And breathe….!
The final few weeks of the race season certainly was full steam ahead for us at Hi-Tech.
Spa – although very wet was an enjoyable weekend. Miles drove alongside Philip Walker and Mike Jordan in Philips GT40 in the six hour race and finished 4th overall. A result to be proud of for the first outing as a team and with plenty of fresh ideas, who knows what next year will hold if the trio make another track appearance!?! Miles also drove John Evans, Brabham BT4 and secured pole position for the race start, however, after a minor gearbox issue finished in 2nd place. Luckily this problem was short-lived and solved overnight ready for Sundays race where Miles drove to finish 1st!
Next on our schedule, it was back to Silverstone with our Formula Juniors, this weekend saw the Formula Junior debut of our customer Cameron Jackson and what a performance it was! Sitting in the BRDC grandstand he certainly put on a show, playing cat and mouse with Andrew Hibberd and eventually finishing 3rd. Andrea Guarino flew in from Italy to join us at the Silverstone Finals for an outing in his Lotus 22 and it was great to have him as part of our team for the weekend.
We then headed off on our final road trip for the season to Portimao, a mere 1600 miles were ahead of us and after 3 days travelling we arrived in time for some Portuguese sunshine. We provided trackside support for Barry Cannell in his Cooper T51 which he shared with Julian Bronson – one race a piece over the weekend. They both drove fantastically with Julian finishing 3rd and Barry Cannell 5th.
After a long journey back home the 2015 race season for Hi-Tech was complete and looking back what a year it has been…..
