It’s been a great start to the season for Hi-Tech with three busy race meetings completed already. Our first meeting saw us head off to Hockenheim with the Historic Formula Juniors, where Philip Buhoffer secured a spectacular first place overall and made the podium on both days; giving Hi-Tech a fantastic season opener.
As soon as we were back it was time to hit the road to Barcelona with the HGPCA arriving at the Circuit de Catalunya ready for another competitive race weekend. With a few little hiccups here and there – (but hey, that’s racing) we managed to have a good weekend overall, seeing some fantastic racing from Julian Bronson and Barry Cannell whilst enjoying some Spanish sunshine before heading back to our workshop to re-prep the cars ready for the Donington Historic Festival.
May Bank Holiday weekend encompassed the usual sunshine and heavy rain showers which livened up the racing on Saturday at Donington! Despite a couple of spins here and there during Race 1 of the HGPCA, we were all in one piece and the Hi-Tech team put on a fabulous race on Sunday in the sunshine. Julian Bronson joined the rear engine grid in the Scarab and enjoyed battles with Barry Cannell in his Cooper T51 and William Nuthall in the Cooper T53, with Barry securing third place overall. We also provided trackside support to by both John Evans and John Davis who both gave fantastic drives both days. The last race of the day – at 7:30pm! – saw a great race with Johnathan Hughes in the Historic Formula Juniors, who despite a spin during the first lap, drove his way back through the grid to P3. A few snaps of our weekend are available to have a look at on our Gallery; feel free to take a look.
It’s time for some more test days and more preparation now ahead of Pau and Dijon but overall it’s been a brilliant start to the 2015 season!
