This latter part of the race season has turned into a real whirlwind, with the OldTimer Grand Prix, Zandvoort Historic, Goodwood Revival and we are now at a very wet Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium!
We’ve certainly had lots going on to keep us busy.
Zandvoort was a fabulous meeting, after the rain had cleared it made for some fantastic racing amongst the sand dunes. Miles drove John Evans’ Braham BT4 and qualified on pole with a great time of 1:53.758 and in Sundays race after making a great start drove to secure 1st place.
The Historic Formula Juniors also provided some excellent racing and great results for Hi-Tech Motorsport – with Martin Walford appearing on the podium after finishing 3rd in Saturday’s race with Philipp Buhoffer following closely behind in 4th place.
On returning from Zandvoort it was an extra quick turnaround and we were off to Glorious Goodwood – the well-known Revival which really is something special. Miles was driving the Lotus24 for Philip Walker and after qualifying in 6th position, had a serious race on his hands for Sunday’s race. After lengthy on track battles, he managed to successfully finish in 4th place. The sun shone for the majority of the weekend and it remained dry, which allowed us ‘non-workers’ to make the most of the Richmond Lawn and Pit Roof to view the afternoons racing. Another successful weekend all round.
Spa looks set to host some interesting races, with lots of rain already and more forecast!! With raincoats at the ready us diehard fans are off to cheer on the team over the weekend, with Miles driving alongside Mike Jordan and Philip Walker in the ‘6 hours’ who knows what the weekend will hold?
