It’s been a busy few weeks for us all at Hi Tech with 3 trips to France! May began with the Gran Prix de Pau in the South of France and after a long drive we arrived ready for the weekend ahead. There was an excellent turn out for the grid in the HGPCA races and lots of great racing from our Hi Tech Motorsport customers.
Before we could blink it was time to head off to the Dijon-Prenois, a fantastic circuit in one of the most fabulous places in France. Once again, we were not disappointed with the weather and we had 3 very sunny days with mercury levels rising to over 30degrees. It was another successful weekend with Julian Bronson winning both races in the infamous Scarab and after lengthy battles with Barry Cannell and John Evans finishing in 4th and 5th places respectively.
After a long journey back to the UK, it was a quick turnaround for Miles, who was straight off to Le Mans for the 24 hours after securing a drive in Philip Walker’s GT40 – an opportunity not to be missed! After a total washout on the Friday, the sun came out ready for the Motor Racing Legends to start at 9:30 and with the grandstand already packed with spectators it was lights out and gogogo! Unfortunately, the race spent over two thirds under safety car due to a large amount of oil being dropped by Dunlop Bridge, but nevertheless an enjoyable weekend overall.
We are currently busy preparing our racing cars which are next out at the Brands Hatch Superprix, Silverstone Classic and the Chateau Impney Hill climb.
